Well I have arrived in Granada Nicaragua. Firstly I was flown in business class on Copa Air…. I’m now worried I’ve been scammed for more money than I thought by the travel agent.
Secondly my shuttle wasn’t at the airport to pick me up so I paid for a taxi and thirdly my hotel lost my booking and had no rooms. Luckily I found a nice enough hotel although the bed feels rather hard….
It was getting dark tonight as I wandered around Granada. But the streets looks wonderful and can`t wait to wander tomorrow or maybe even take a horse drawn carriage tour of the city.
I went and had dinner tonight at a place that looked decent enough and run by an American called Nuestra Casa. They had Chicken Parmagiana nicaraguan style on the menu so I ordered it. Firstly I got a big salad followed by a large bread followed by mains with a side of pasta. I couldn’t eat it all. It was way too much food and with 3 beers it cost me C180 or $10.
Oh yeah Nicaragua uses money called the Cordobas, I assume named after some spanish guy from a long time ago.

Anyway the hotel I found has free internet, so I’m using it while I can. Its a lot hotter and more humid here. I’m really struggling in the heat, but when the breeze blows through its good.
OK well I`m off to bed to watch some sport on the cable TV. Plenty of soccer and futbol americano to watch. If I get really desperate on Friday nights I can watch Mexican Gridiron.
Anyway I look forward to getting out and about tomorrow, hopefully with some fantastic pictures to show you.
